Question & Answers

What is a rotating field control test plug?

Three-phase sockets must be connected in such a way that there is a clockwise rotating field. The rotating field control test plug differs from normal plugs due to its transparent housing. By means of two control lamps inside the housing, this plug indicates whether the field is rotating in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction and checks that all 3 phases are present. This shows the direction of the rotating field. If the rotating field is correct, the green lamp lights up; if the rotating field is incorrect, the red lamp lights up and if a phase is missing, both lamps light up. More information

Can I get a feedback signal from the CEE plug and socket?

Yes, for 63A and 125A receptacles and plugs and connectors, this can be done with a so-called pilot contact switch or a PCS (PilotContactSwitch). (Pay attention to the “P” index for the part number)
Pilot contact: this involves another sleeve being added to the internal wiring, which uses the standard pin on the plug to establish a lagging connection.
PCS: this involves a switch being installed in the internal wiring. It is a normally open contact with no potential, which is mechanically provided with a lagging current via the pin in the plug.
In both cases this has to be requested when ordering; retrofitting is not possible.
With some types of 16-amp and 32-amp receptacles it is possible to install an auxiliary switch: part no. 41000 (retrofitting possible). Relevant appropriate receptacles are listed in the MENNEKES catalogue.

Does MENNEKES offer solutions that can be secured with a padlock or lock cylinder?

Yes, MENNEKES has several solutions available:

  • Stainless steel receptacle combinations, CombiTOWER®, bollards and Cepex receptacles are equipped with a lock cylinder and can therefore be locked.
  • It is also possible to equip DUO-interlocked receptacles and windows on combination enclosures with a padlock.

What do I use a phase inverter product for?

If a three-phase motor runs in the incorrect direction, our phase inverter products solve the problem quickly and safely. Use a screwdriver to release the lock and turn the insulating section with the two phase pins - the motor will now run in the opposite direction. More information

Our EverGUM® combination units are suitable for free-standing floor applications. A stand is therefore not required.

Is there a data sheet for each receptacle combination? How do I go about getting one? Who do I ask?

Yes. A data sheet is available for download for each standard receptacle combination on the product detail page. For customer-specific solutions, a schematic diagram and an electric circuit diagram are included in the product text.

Are declarations of conformity available for products from MENNEKES, and, if so, how do I go about obtaining these?

For products of our product range, you can download the declarations of conformity from the respective product pages, or you can request them. If it is a new receptacle combination that was customised to the needs of the customer, a declaration of conformity will only be available after the order has been received and the first device has been produced.
